The Painting That Evokes Fascination and Desire

Let me take you on a journey through my latest creation, a vivid oil on canvas piece measuring 36" x 48", titled "Alluring." This style of painting is a celebration, a narrative, and an exploration of identity, poerfully expressed through the lens of
Afrocentric Beauty.
In "Alluring," you are met with the striking image of a woman adorned in a vibrant green dress top that serves as a backdrop for her rich, deep skin tones. Her presence is both commanding and graceful, an embodiment of cultural pride. The golden mask she wears is intriguing, adding layers to her character and drawing you in to contemplate the complexities of identity that women of African descent navigate every day.
Standing beside her is an African vase, intricately designed and steeped in cultural significance, acting as a symbolic anchor to the rich historical legacy she carries. The environment is woven with brushstrokes of warm yellows and soft purples, colors that dance together to create a harmonious yet dynamic background.
What makes this piece truly unique is its commitment to the artistic style I developed in 2011, which I call Afrocentric Neo-Impressionism. It's a style that thrives with bold colors and thick, expressive brushstrokes. This approach allows the painting to sing in the African's native tongue with life and energy, inviting the viewer to not only see but feel the essence of the subject.
The heart of "Alluring" lies in its purpose: to break free from the shackles of stereotype and shine a light on the stories often neglected or misunderstood. It's an invitation for us to embrace the beauty that lies in our heritage, in the natural features and cultural expressions that emanate from African roots.
This artwork isn't just for the eyes; it's for the spirit and soul. It's about sparking a conversation, encouraging reflection, and empowering viewers to celebrate beauty not merely as a visual delight but as an embodiment of history, identity, and strength. With "Alluring," I'm reaching out to remind us all of the vibrant legacy we hold, urging us to honor it with a renewed sense of pride and joy.
From The Artist

The purpose of this blog is too shed light on a group of women who has been under appreciated in this country and around the world. The focus on the Afrocentric woman is crucial, as there is an overwhelming amount of negativity directed toward them. Whether online, on TV, or in everyday life and conversations, these women are constantly portrayed in a negative light. Mothers are often as divine by their children, and as a community, it is our duty to protect and uplift our women. As men, especially Afrocentric men. It is our responsibility to support and celebrate these women. What's currently being done is not enough, so it's time to take a new approach.
